- East Coast - Extremely dry, hot summers but bitter cold winters with winter storms and heavy snow
- North Coast - Humid, warm but often wet.

Turkey is + 2 hours GMT and the average flight time is around 4 hours. Local currency is the YTL (New Turkish Lira). A visa is required for entering Turkey and this can be bought at the airport when you arrive. The cost is £10.00 sterling and it's valid for three months.
